Ashley Yang
Ashley Yang is an M.A. student in Art History at Columbia University, specializing in the art and material culture of the ancient Mediterranean and Near East. Her research interests include cultural exchange, collection histories, and the intersections of art, archaeology, and heritage preservation.
Before attending Columbia, Ashley earned her B.A. in History and Ancient Greek and Roman Studies, with a minor in Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures, from the University of California, Berkeley. At Berkeley, she worked as a research assistant at the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology and participated in archaeological fieldwork with the Nemea Center for Classical Archaeology.
She has held positions at the Getty Villa in the Public Programs department and as a curatorial intern in the Department of Ancient Near Eastern Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Most recently, she has worked in estate appraisals at Doyle Auctioneers & Appraisers and currently serves as a research assistant in the Department of Ancient Seals and Tablets at the Morgan Library & Museum.
