Jessica Lane is a PhD student focusing on the art and culture of early modern Venice. She graduated summa cum laude from Kenyon College in 2020 in Art History and Italian with distinction in Modern Languages and Literature. She earned her master’s degree in Art History from Syracuse University’s Florence Graduate Program in Italian Renaissance Art as a Syracuse Florence Fellow. Her thesis was titled “St. Mark’s Miracles at Pentapolis: New Considerations of Tintoretto’s Brera Canvas for the Scuola Grande di San Marco in Venice.” She has previously held internships at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and the American Pavilion of the 59th Venice Biennale d’Arte.
