With roots dating back to the seventeenth century—it was originally established in 1603, with Galileo Galilei among its early members—the Accademia dei Lincei is Italy’s most prestigious cultural institution. Its mission is to promote, coordinate, integrate, and disseminate scientific knowledge in its highest forms within the framework of the unity and universality of culture. De Angelis will be inducted into the Accademia in November, during the inaugural ceremony of the 2026-27 academic year.
