Transfering Courses

A limited number of art history courses taken outside the department may count toward a student's major, minor, or concentration requirements. All such transfer and interdepartmental courses must receive approval from the Director of Undergraduate Studies.
 

Transfer Courses

Art History courses taken at other colleges, universities, and non-Columbia study abroad programs. No more than three transfer courses may be counted toward the major or concentration, and no more than either one transfer course or one interdepartmental course may be counted toward the minor.

Transfer Credit Request Form

For each transfer course, please email the completed form with the required attachments as a COMBINED PDF to the Undergraduate Program Coordinator, to be reviewed by the DUS.
 

Interdepartmental Courses

Art History courses taken in other departments at Columbia. No more than two interdepartmental courses may be counted toward the major or concentration, and no more than either one transfer course or one interdepartmental course may be counted toward the minor. This limit does not include the required studio course(s) for majors or approved Barnard Art History courses.

For each interdepartmental course, please email the completed form along with the syllabus as a COMBINED PDF to the Undergraduate Program Coordinator, to be reviewed by the DUS.
